Participants will improve their understanding of the relationship between physical space and organizational performance. The course will cover the classic fundamental considerations of functionality, circulation, security, and image as well as newer issues such as ADA accessibility and sustainable design.

The course will explore the dynamic of a team-oriented approach to design projects and is intended for a wide range of participants those who are in the early planning stages to those about to start design. After completing this course, participants should be able to develop a strategic plan, organize a project team, prepare a project budget, understand the importance of site selection, understand layout and performance criteria, be conversant with contemporary court design issues, design space to accomplish organizational goals, plan for interim space utilization, and manage a successful project.
